According to reports, Twitter is working on enabling a Bitcoin (BTC) tipping feature for content creators.

Twitter is reportedly working on to enable a Bitcoin (BTC) tipping feature for contentipt creators. MacRumors believe that the latest Twitter iOS beta has lines of code that could see Bitcoin turn into a part of the “Tip Jar.” Also, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey has previously stated that Bitcoin tipping was in the works.
Twitter introduced the idea of a Tip jar in May so that users could reward content creators on the popular social media platform. If this is true and is really happening then along with it many other features will be added too such as CashApp, PayPal and Venmo as acceptable payment options on the tip jar.
As a part of this Twitter might give a brief tutorial about Bitcoin and the Lightning network. Based on a part of text quoted by MacRumors, the Bitcoin tipping feature will use Lightning network payment gateway strike to “generate Bitcoin lightning invoices.” This tutorial might have details about ideas such as custodial and non-custodial wallets for storing Bitcoin. A Bitcoin tipping feature on Twitter is only the latest idea among many other plans of BTC-focused adoption developments for the social media giant for Dorsey himself. In August, the Twitter and square chief declared plans to build a decentralized exchange for Bitcoin.
Dorsey has stated Bitcoin earlier as being the key to Twitter’s future while mentioning the company’s need to integrate BTC into other mediums like commerce and subscriptions. Bitcoin tipping on Twitter with the help of lightning network will confirm plans to integrate LN into the social media platform that first started in June. This step could bring crypto token tipping to the mainstream in fulfilment of one of the several use cases for cryptocurrencies adopted by proponents. Dorsey recently stated that square was creating an “assisted custody” hardware wallet for Bitcoin.
