What is Energi?

'Energy (NRG) is a next-generation cryptocurrency with a PoS (Proof of Stake) system. With NRG's blockchain platform, Ethereum smart contracts are compatible with a self-funding treasury, decentralized master node governance, and Layer 1 and Layer 2 protocols. A decentralized exchange such as Energiswap is also built on NRG tokens. Funded by the NRG treasury, the Energi organization is a blockchain-based financial technology provider. 

Energi's mission is to provide customers with decentralized and secure financial services. It currently employs a team of over 60 contributors spread across 5 continents. The NRG Economic Model 1 million NRG are released every month and divided between the Energi Treasury, Masternodes, Stakers, and Backbone. The breakdown of the allocations can be viewed below: 40% to the Energi Treasury 40% to Energi Masternodes 10% to Energi Stakers 10% to the Energi Backbone.

Energi maintains its own treasury, which is self-funded. Treasury funds go toward product development, marketing, merchant adoption, and team growth.

Founder of Energi

TommyWorldPower (Twitter) founded Energi in 2018 as a cryptocurrency designed to drive global adoption around the world. Having first gained exposure to cryptocurrency in 2012, Tommy began trading and early-adopting it. Through his research as a trader, he identified several key issues that were not being addressed by cryptocurrencies at the time. By creating Energi, he sought to address those issues directly and provide a platform for the future of cryptocurrency that would be sustainable, scalable, and secure.
